Udaipur, Aug 25 (FD) The citizens of Udaipur were delighted today with the Agriculture minister and son of the historic town, Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurating the Domestic pipeline gas Connection.
When the registration and awareness programme held at Udaipur Townhall on Thursday, it was decided that initially, more than 500 connections will be given to households residing in Khilpara to the Ramesh Chaumuhani area. Later, the network of the gas pipeline will be expanded to other areas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of this pilot project through video conferencing in 65 geographical areas of 129 districts of the country under the Central Government's City Gas Distribution Project on November 22, 2018
It was promised that by 2019, the pipeline gas would reach vast areas of the Gomati district. For several reasons including the Covid pandemic the project implementation works were delayed. However, the project is finally set to materialize this year.
The project will also create employment opportunities.
Even as the pipeline gas project is hailed by the local people, it is feared that the expansion of this pipeline project may hurt the prospect of those engaged in the LPG cylinder business and their dependents. FD PD JK
