Pradyot to meet with Home Minister to discuss demands for ‘Greater Tipraland’

Agartala, May 08 (FD) Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has announced that he will be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on May 10.
Debbarma stated that Shah had invited him to the meeting, and he plans to discuss the demands of the indigenous people of Tripura, particularly the creation of a separate state called 'Greater Tipraland.'
Meanwhile, AK Mishra, the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, who has been tasked with resolving the issues faced by the indigenous people in Tripura, cancelled his visit to the state due to the situation in Manipur. Mishra expressed regret for not visiting Tripura but promised to meet with Chief Minister Manik Saha, IPFT leaders, and tribal samajpatis when he does visit.
Tipra Motha, a political party that won 13 seats in the February assembly elections, has been advocating for the creation of Greater Tipraland, a separate state for the indigenous people of Tripura. The party hopes that their meeting with Shah will help advance their cause. FD SB JK
