Agartala, Jun 10 (FD) Royal scion of Tripura’s Manikya kings and TIPRA Motha supremo, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Saturday sharply criticized prominent BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Jishnu Debbarma for his comment against TIPRA Motha, which was allegedly trying to ‘.Take away people’s democratic and political right by threats’.
Pradyot Kishore in a tweet today said, “Over the last 24 hours I have been asked to respond to the statement made by a BJP leader against me and more importantly against Tipraland . I have never publicly said or will say anything against family members”.
Jishnu Debbarma is the uncle of Pradyot Kishore and that is the reason he mentioned, “I have never publicly said or will say anything against family members”.
“I would like to keep the dignity and refrain from making comments which are beneath the belt. Reacting to everything is not important, the earlier generation in my humble opinion always thought that individual power was important over people’s constitutional rights and that's why we are minority in our own land today”, he tweeted.
Jishnu Debbarma on Friday slammed the opposition, TIPRA Motha party for taking away people’s democratic and political right by threats.
Taking to twitter, he wrote, “Addressed the janajati yuva rally of BJP-IPFT. The politics of threat and harassment of Tiprasa for joining BJP is contrary to the concept of Thansa or unity. You cannot take away people's democratic and political right by threats and then ask for solution”.
He also slammed the party for demanding a separatist demand like greater Tipraland by carving out the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), which constitute two third of the state territory.
“The BJP-IPFT passed a cabinet decision for Land Rights, Territorial Council, 42 subjects, more funding to TTAADDC. Instead of supporting this demand of State Government through a resolution in TTAADC council demand for Greater Tipraland was mooted by TTAADC to stop the State Cabinet decision sent to Govt of India. It was only to ensure that their politics of demand goes on”, he tweeted.
“Now of course after state assembly results Greater Tipraland has disappeared it's now Interlocutor and constitutional solution. Now in the opposition bench with 13 MLAs facing a 32 strong treasury bench but hoping to cross over”, Jishnu Debbarma added. FD JK
