Agartala, Jan 25 (FD): Royal scion and Supremo of Tipra Motha, which is demanding a separate Tipraland by carving out the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) today, claimed that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has invited for a negotiation, but the party will not attend any meeting unless it received written assurance from the Government of India (GOI) on the constitutional solution of the demand.
“We have received intimation from the ministry of home affairs that they would like to talk to us on our demand for a constitutional solution to our demand of Greater Tipraland . We have repeatedly said UNTIL we don't get written assurances from GOI on the constitutional solution of our demand we will not go in for any alliance leave alone seat sharing. Please don't jump the gun and relax - we know how to negotiate for our people to the maximum”, he said in a face book post.
He also denied a media report that the party began talks with the union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi over its demand.
“Contrary to rumours there have been NO talks of seat sharing as reported with any party!” he added in the post.
Party sources said, many senior leaders including party president BK Hrangkhwal, former minister and party election observer Mevar Kumar Jamatia, deputy chief executive member TTAADC Animesh Debbarma, Former MLA Brishaketu Debbarma, and TTAADC Chairman Jagadish Debbarma have left for New Delhi to join the meeting in case they get a written assurance.
