Poshan Pakhwada 2025: Promoting Nutrition Awareness and Empowerment
By News On Air Apr 09, 2025
The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating Poshan Pakhwada 2025 from April 8 to April 22 as part of its ongoing efforts under Mission Poshan 2.0. The 7th edition of the nationwide nutrition campaign aims to strengthen community engagement, improve health outcomes, and empower individuals and communities with knowledge and resources related to nutrition.
A key focus of this year’s Poshan Pakhwada is the importance of nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life — from conception to two years of age. Experts and health officials underline this phase as a crucial window for a child's physical and cognitive development. Proper nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood contributes significantly to long-term health, better academic performance, and increased productivity in adulthood.
The Ministry emphasized that addressing malnutrition is central to the country's development goals, and public participation is vital to achieving sustainable change. Through outreach activities, workshops, and community-level events, Poshan Pakhwada 2025 encourages active involvement of families, health workers, and local leaders.
As the campaign progresses, the government hopes to inspire lasting change in health behaviors, foster informed decision-making, and empower women to take charge of their families’ nutritional well-being.
