Politically patronaged mafia assaults IAS officer in the city

Agartala, Oct 3 (FD) Even as there is initiative from the side of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to free up the encroachments in different forms in the capital city, a group of encroachers with political patronage becoming unruly and disobeying the government rules.  

An IAS officer and a DCM of the Sadar SDM office were physically assaulted by a politically patronized goon in Rabindra Bhawan chaumuhuni area yesterday in the evening. When the officials filed a FIR with the west Agartala police station against the encroachers, they did not take any actions against the goons in fear of being labeled as anti government and face threat of being transferred.

Police said that assistant commissioner of A gartala Municipal Corporation Md Sajad P. (IAS) and DCM of Sadar SDM office Subarna Murasingh were allegedly assaulted and under compulsion the under-strength AMC party had been forced to retreat.

The incident occurred yesterday in the evening at the Rabindra Bhawan chaumuhuni.

The owner of the fast food shop under the banner of ‘Bollywood Retro Restaurant’, Gautam Karmakar , a politically patronized mafia, had illegally assaulted the officials. FD JK
