Police intensified its raid against drug peddlars

Agartala, March 12 (FD) Tripura police has intensified its drive to seize narcotic substances and arresting drug peddlers, who were trafficking drugs mainly among the students.
Police of the East Agartala police station nabbed four drug peddlers identified as Abdul Hossain, Pintu Miah, Mithu Majumder and Amitabha Majumder.
“The persons, who have been arrested, were acting as mobile suppliers. They generally moved by bikes or auto rickshaws and sold drugs. They were arrested in different raids at Lal Matia, Dhaleswar and Ashram Chowmuhani”, SDPO Sadar, Deba Prasad Roy said.
The drugs were kept in 250 small packets and a box carrying nine grams of the same substance and the seized materials stands at 15 grams worth Rs. 2 lakh in black markets.
Acting on a tip-off, police in Khowai district seized 24 grams of brown sugar from a person, who was travelling in a public bus. He was arrested from bus stand.
In a separate incident, GRPF seized 350 bottles of banned cough syrup. FD JK
