Pijush Biswas appointed as Chief of Tripura unit of TMC

Agartala, Dec 11 (FD) Three days after joining the Trinamool Congress former Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President, Pijush Kanti Biswas was appointed as the new president of TMC in Tripura, a party statement said today.
The post of the president of the Tripura unit of TMC was lying vacant since August last after Subal Bhoumik, the former president was abruptly removed from the post by the central leadership without showing any valid reason.
"The All India Trinamool Congress under the inspiration and guidance of Hon’ble Chairperson Smt. @MamataOfficial is pleased to announce Shri Pijush Kanti Biswas as the Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress State President. We wish the very best to him for his future endeavour’s", the TMC tweeted.
Biswas, a senior advocate had joined TMC in Delhi on Dec 7 last, where he was welcomed by the TMC Supremo Mamata bandopaddhyay. Biswas, resigned as TPCC president in August last year.
Son of Pijush Biswas, Pujan is the incumbent General Secretary of TMC’s Tripura unit.
Expressing his deep satisfaction at the new party, Biswa said, his party would put-up candidates in maximum number of seats in the ensuing assembly elections in the state slated for March next year.
“I have spoken to party Supremo, Mamata Bandopaddhyay and General Secretary, Abhishek Bandopaddhyay, both are serious about fighting BJP in the next elections and assured me to extend all-out support in putting maximum number of candidates in the next elections”, he told reporters. FD JK
