Agartala, Nov 20 (FD) Expelled Tripura Bharatiya Janata (BJP) Party leader Patal Kanya Jamatia Tuesday termed BJP as Bangladeshi Janata Party allegedly the party was promoting “Bangladeshi sentiments”.
The fire brand leader, who was the Vice-president of the saffron party was expelled in October for her “anti-party” activities and breaking organisational discipline.
Immediately after landing at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala, she alleged that the parties Karykartas were spoiling the dignity of the party.
“There has been an attempt to promote Bangladeshi sentiments in the party about which I gave a message to the centre (the party’s central leadership). I objected to the BJP’s attempt with Bangladeshi sentiment in the party to make it Bangladeshi Janata Party,” Jamatia told reporters.
“How can the party, which is against illegal infiltration from Bangladesh, the local leaders are not vociferous about this illegal migration. Its ideology is to protect the country from illegal intrusion and ensure security. There are no big leaders in the Cabinet or the Assembly who have talked about illegal intrusion. If the Assam chief minister can say so in Assam, why not the Tripura CM?” she asked.
She also blamed the Tripura unit of the party for not maintaining proper procedure of expelling a leader. “I was hurt by announcing my expulsion on social media and the national media; I sought the official expulsion letter from Delhi. If I have been expelled, then give me the official letter. Why can’t they give it?” asked Jamatia. FD JK
