Passenger attempts to open emergency door mid-flight

Agartala, Sept 21 (FD) An incident occurred on an Agartala-bound IndiGo flight from Kolkata when an intoxicated passenger, who had reportedly consumed drugs, attempted to open the emergency exit door shortly before landing at Agartala airport. The individual, identified as Biswajit Debnath, had boarded the flight in a restless state at Dumdum airport.

As the flight approached Agartala, Debnath's erratic behavior escalated, and he tried to open the emergency exit door, prompting the flight's crew members to intervene. In response, both crew members and fellow passengers restrained the inebriated individual until the aircraft safely landed at Agartala's MBB airport.

Upon landing, airport authorities handed Debnath over to the airport police, who had been alerted in advance. IndiGo has initiated an internal inquiry into the incident, which could have posed a serious threat to the flight's safety. FD SB
