Paris Olympics: Archer Dipika Kumari enters Quarter Finals of Women’s single event

At the Paris Olympics, Archer Dipika Kumari has entered Quarter Finals of the Women’s single event. Dipika demonstrated her prowess in the elimination round, securing a comfortable 6-4 victory over Dutch archer Quinty Roeffen. The match was decided in four sets, with Kumari’s precision and consistency proving too much for her opponent. Another Archer Bhajan Kaur will take on Indonesia’s Diananda Choirunisa in the Round of 16 in a short while.
In 25Mt air pistol shooting Manu Bhaker missed out on a hat-trick and finished the campaign with two historic bronze medals. With four athletes left in the fray, Manu was tied at 28 points with Hungary’s Veronica Major. And in the five-shot shootoff, Manu missed the target twice, while Major missed only once. Major eventually ended with a bronze medal with 31 hits.
In Boxing, India’s Nishant Dev will lock horns with Marco Alonso Verde Alvarez of Mexico in the quarter-finals of Men’s 71kg category tonight at 12:18 AM. A win for Nishant in this match will secure another medal for India at Paris Games 2024.
In Golf, Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar will be teeing up for round three.
And in Sailing, Nethra Kumanan will be competing in Women’s Dinghy event at 3:35 PM, while another Indian sailor Vishnu Saravanan will also resume his campaign in the Men’s Dinghy event at 3:50 PM.
