Parijat Datta awarded famous ‘Bhismadeb Memorial’ award for his literary works

Agartala, Jan 14 (FD) Parijat Datta, eminent short story writer of the state has been conferred the prestigious ‘Bhismadeb Memorial’ award for his writings.

Bishmadeb Bhattacharya died in 1989, was an eminent short story writer and journalist. The erstwhile Left Front Government had introduced the award in his name in 1989.

Every year eminent writers get this award and this time it was given to Datta.

Sources in the organizing committee of the Agartala Book fair said a citation and cash award was handed over to him.
Parijat Datta has written at least 100 hundred short stories, which were published by different literary magazines in the region, Dainik Sambad, Desh and Anandabazar Patrika. FD JK
