Opposition CPI(M) thanked people for high turnout braving all odds

Agartala, Feb 17 (FD) The opposition CPIM on Thursday greeted the voters of the state for coming forward to  exercise their fundamental right to cast their votes freely, braving all the conspiracies, intimidation and attacks by the ruling BJP. In a statement of the CPM State Secretariat, it is said that this is an example in front of the country.

A statement from the CPIM state secretariat said, "On behalf of the Tripura State Secretariat of the Marxist Communist Party of India, we express our sincere respect and gratitude to the voter's of Tripura".

The polling process in this election had to face unnecessary delay as a result of which the voters had to stand in queues for hours. Voting should end at 4 pm, but continued till late night.

The CPIM state secretariat has expressed sorrow for the problems faced by the voters waiting for it. Coming to know about the hassles faced by the voters the Election Commission has been requested to take effective measures so that it does not happen again in the future. FD JK
