Opposition Congress organised deputation in favour of the unorganized labourers

Agartala, Nov 21 (FD) The opposition Congress on Thursday organised a mass deputation and met the officials of the Labor Department and put forward several documents for the welfare of the laborers in the state.
The protest was organised under the banner of All Tripura Unorganized Workers and the Congress party today protested against the deprivation of unorganized workers.
The procession started from the state congress building and traversed through different parts of the city and went to the labor office to meet the deputation.
Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha and other party leaders participated in this deputation program today.
Their demands included that DDT workers should be reinstated, salaries of Anganwadi workers, Helpers, ASHA workers and Mid-day meal workers should be increased and regularized. 10,000 rupees government assistance should be provided to all workers affected by the recent severe floods.
The daily wages of the REGA workers should be increased by Rs. 400 and the daily wages of the tea workers should also be increased. The unorganized workers assistance scheme should be re-introduced in the state. All construction workers must be provided with labor cards. Construction workers are required to provide tool-kits twice a year. A large section of unorganized workers participated in this program today. FD JK
