Agartala, Aug 16 (FD) An incident involving an on-duty Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan in the GB Bazaar area has raised concerns over the safety of security personnel and the prevailing law-and-order situation in the state.
According to allegations circulating in connection with the incident, a group of youths allegedly surrounded the TSR jawan while he was performing his duty and subjected him to intimidation and physical harassment. The incident was reportedly captured on camera, and the visuals have since drawn public attention.
The alleged confrontation has sparked concern over the circumstances in which a security personnel could be confronted and allegedly manhandled while on duty. It has also triggered a broader debate over whether the traditional respect for and deterrence associated with the police and security forces are gradually weakening.
