No Closure of Schools, Colleges Amid Adverse Weather: CM Saha

Agartala, Apr 29 (FD) Amid prevailing adverse weather conditions, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday announced that there will be no closure of Anganwadi centres, schools and colleges for now.
After reviewing the situation around 4:30 pm, the Chief Minister said the weather-related disruptions remain under control, while assuring that the government is closely monitoring developments and is prepared to respond to any escalation.
Dr Saha directed all concerned departments to ensure public safety, minimise the impact in affected areas and provide prompt relief. He emphasised the need for immediate response, coordinated action and necessary interventions wherever required.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to integrated disaster management, he said district administrations, the Tripura State Disaster Management Authority and the police are working efficiently to handle the situation.
However, one casualty has been reported from the Longtharai Valley area. Expressing concern, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to provide compensation to the affected family and ensure timely support to all impacted individuals.
The government remains on alert and has assured citizens that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard lives and restore normalcy at the earliest. FD JK
