Night Curfew and Restrictions Imposed Along India-Bangladesh Border in Unakoti

Agartala, Mar 29 (FD) To maintain public safety along the India-Bangladesh border in Unakoti district, District Magistrate D.K. Chakma has enforced restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNS) 2023. These restrictions will be in effect from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
As per the order, movement will be prohibited from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM within a 3-kilometer stretch along the border. Additionally, gatherings of more than five people will not be allowed in this restricted area. The order also bans carrying weapons such as sticks, bows and arrows, sharp bamboo sticks, bicycle chains, slingshots, iron rods, knives, firearms, and explosives.
Exemptions will be provided to police personnel, BSF, TSR, Assam Rifles, and other law enforcement officers on duty. Individuals with valid authorization from authorities, as well as those transporting critically ill patients or purchasing essential medicines, will also be exempt.
Violators of these restrictions will face legal action under Section 223 of BNS 2023. FD SB
