Agartala/Maligaon, June 18 (FD) In order to accommodate the increased number of passengers, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the operation of two summer special trains. These trains will run between Agartala–Guwahati and Silchar–Naharlagun.
The summer special train connecting Agartala and Guwahati will run for 11 trips in both directions, starting from June 22nd until September 1st, 2023.
Similarly, the summer special train linking Silchar and Naharlagun, which connects the Barak Valley of Southern Assam with a part of Arunachal Pradesh, will also run for 11 trips from June 19th until August 29th, 2023.
The special train No. 05628 (Agartala–Guwahati) will depart from Agartala at 19:00 hours every Thursday, arriving in Guwahati at 08:45 hours the following day.
On the return journey, the special train No. 05627 (Guwahati–Agartala) will depart from Guwahati at 13:15 hours every Friday, reaching Agartala at 04:35 hours the next day.
The train will pass through Dharmanagar, Badarpur, Lumding, and Chaparmukh Jn. Stations. It will consist of 21 coaches, including AC 3-tier, sleeper class, and general second-class coaches.
Likewise, the special train No. 05638 (Silchar–Naharlagun) will depart from Silchar at 13:50 hours every Monday, reaching Naharlagun at 08:30 hours the following day. On the return journey, special train No. 05637 (Naharlagun–Silchar) will depart from Naharlagun at 10:00 hours every Tuesday, arriving in Silchar at 04:40 hours the next day. This train will traverse through Badarpur, Lumding, Dimapur, Furkating, New Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, and North Lakhimpur stations. It will consist of 20 coaches, including AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, and sleeper class coaches.
