New managing committee of Agartala Press Club formed

Agartala, Feb 26 (FD): Veteran journalist Jayanta Bhattacharya was elected as president and Sayed Sajjad Ali elected uncontested as the vice-president of the new managing committee of Agartala Press Club on Sunday.

Besides, senior photojournalist Ramakanta Dey has been elected unopposed as secretary of the nine membered committees. The voting started from 1 pm on Sunday afternoon followed by the annual general meeting at the Press Club.

The outgoing president of the Agartala Press Club, Subal Dey presented the editorial report in the meeting.

After the end of the election, counting of the votes was held, where the Returning Officer Sandeep Dutta Chowdhury announced the names of the winners in the election with the formation of a new management committee of the Agartala Press Club.

Photojournalist Ramakanta Dey is elected uncontested as general secretary, Kamal Chowdhury and Abhishek Dey have been elected uncontested as assistant secretaries. Photojournalist Ranjan Ray has been elected as the treasurer and rest five elected executive members are– Mihir Lal Sarkar, Abhishek Debbarma, Abhijit Bhattacharkee, Sourajit Pal and Manish Lodh.
