Nepal PM officially announces Sagarmatha Sambad on the occasion of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation

On the occasion of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation (IYGP), 2025, Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli today announced the Sagarmatha Sambaad (Dialogue) scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on May 16-18, 2025.
The Prime Minister declared the inauguration of Dialogue amidst a programme organised by the Ministry of Forests and Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar.
The government of Nepal has planned to host the event, the multi-stakeholder international dialogue forum, focusing on climate change, mountains and the future of human life. The Sagarmatha Sambaad has been scheduled to be organised biannually as the PM suggested Nepal is the best place to raise Mountain protection and climate change.
The Prime Minister addressed the announcement ceremony, highlighting the objectives of the Dialogue. Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, secretaries, senior officials and the heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Nepal were present at today’s event.
