National Law University to be set up soon, said Education Minister

Agartala, Sept 9 (FD) Tripura Government has made a notification of appointment of the Vice-chancellor for a Law University to be set up in the state soon, Education minister, Ratan Lal Nath has said.
Nath said, Dr. Yogesh Pratap Singh was appointed as the Vice Chancellor for the National Law University on Sept 7 last.
Showing the maps for the proposed university, Nath said that it would be set up in the education departments own land and not in any other institutions land.
Talking to the reporters at the civil secretariat on Thursday the education minister said, the students would be participating in classes subject to construction of their own building.
He said, no plot or infrastructure under the ownership of T.I.T College will be used. As per the Education Minister, the Government has allotted budget for this project.
He mentioned that on September 5, leader of opposition party Mr. Manik Sarkar sent a letter to the Chief Minister explaining the possible problem that could be faced by students of TIT College due to this project. He requested the Chief Minister to take necessary steps regarding the matter and make arrangements for selecting an alternate plot for the same.
At the press conference, Mr. Nath mentioned his disappointment for the former Chief Minister Mr Manik Sarkar and said that he is misguiding the citizens intentionally. FD DM JK
