'Moved to tears': Sam Manekshaw's daughter praises Sam Bahadur

Sam Bahadur, based on Indias legendary army chief and inaugural field marshal Sam Manekshaw, hit the theaters on Friday and has garnered instant praise from critics and audiences alike. Actor Vicky Kaushal plays the titular role in the film.

Vickys portrayal of Indias one of most respected army generals has been widely commended not only by the viewers but Sam Manekshaws daughter, Maja Daruwala, who said the film made her very emotional.

Maja Daruwala attended The Indian Express Adda event alongside director Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal.

She said at the event, They have made the film to make the country proud of whatever it was. But, the time that I tear up, every time, Ive seen the film twice now and I teared up both times, is the last two seconds of the film when you turn to the audience and youre smiling. That just kills me every time. The video was shared by a fan page on Twitter.

Vicky Kaushal has been garnering appreciation from his friends, associates, and, naturally, his relatives. Abhishek Bachchan, his co-star from Manmarziyaan, sent Vicky Kaushal a thoughtful message expressing admiration.
