More Ekalavya schools to be started soon

Agartala, Mar 13 (FD) Tripura Government has decided to open five more Ekalavya Model Residential Schools for the tribal students in addition to six such schools operational now, officials said today.

When the centre has sanctioned Rs. 48 crores for one such residential school and in total 21 such schools were sanctioned by the centre.

The schools would be set up at Rupaicheri, Karbook, Padmabil, Dumburnagar and Gabardi, where the tribal people are more in number, Director of the state Tribal Welfare department said.

Ekalavya schools functions under the central guide lines, which follows CBSE curriculum from class 6 to 12.

“We have already decided to start admissions of the students, which would be started from June next and we have announced for selecting students through entrance tests”, he said. FD JK
