Agartala, Dec 17 (FD) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be arriving here on Sunday, is scheduled to inaugurate several development projects including two institutes virtually, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Saturday.
During his stay at the poll bound state, Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate Hotel Management Institute at Anandnagar and Tripura's first Dental College at IGM hospital virtually from the Vivekananda ground, Chowdhury told reporters in press conference here.
Briefing about the Prime Minister’s visit, Chowdhury said, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varman, Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, MPs, MLAs and other officials will be present at MBB Airport on Sunday to welcome Modi.
The ICA minister claimed on the basis of an official report that a record-breaking gathering of about 72 thousand people would attend the Prime Minister's rally at Swami Vivekananda Ground.
He said that the state government has arranged four special trains in view of the massive movement of people in the state on Sunday. Two trains will run on Agartala route from north district and two trains on Agartala route from south district, Chowdhury added.
The prime minister will also inaugurate the Khayarpur to Amtali NH-08 Bypass widening project, Chowdhury said.
Besides, Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the improvement of 32 roads with a length of over 230 km and 112 roads with a distance of over 540 km under PMGSY III (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana), the ICA minister told reporters.
He would later inaugurate the State Institute of Hotel Management at Anandnagar and the Government Dental College at Agartala before returning to Delhi.
Initially, the Dental College will have 50 seats and will function under the Tripura Central University, Chowdhury said. FD PD
