Modern Tripura's Architect Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur remembered on 115th birth anniversary

Agartala, Aug 19 (FD) The birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, hailed as the modern architect of Tripura, was commemorated with solemnity and enthusiasm this Saturday.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha led the tribute-paying at the iconic statue of the Maharaja, located at the capital's MBB Chowmuhani. The ceremony was followed by a symbolic cake-cutting, graced by dignitaries like Minister of Janajati Kalyan Department, Bikash Debbarma, Mayor, Dipak Majumdar, and other officials.
Dr. Saha emphasized the government's dedication to realizing Maharaja's vision of 'Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura' and countered the undervaluation of his contributions by the previous government. He highlighted the restoration of rightful recognition and respect under the present government, established in 2018.
The 115th birth anniversary was also commemorated at the BJP office here.
Chief Minister Saha, paid floral tributes to Maharaja's image at the BJP's state office. This day was declared as public holiday by the state government to honor Maharaja's instrumental role in shaping Tripura.
“We bear the legacy of the last ruler of the state, Maharaj Bir Bikram, who remains alive in the minds of the people of the younger generation”, Saha said in the function. FD SB JK
