Minor Girl Gang-Raped in Abandoned Madrassa Hostel in North Tripura

Agartala, April 14 (FD) A minor girl was gang-raped inside a deserted Madrassa hostel at Kadamtala in North Tripura district, police said today.

The incident occurred on Saturday night, when the girl was going to a nearby Kurti village to attend a marriage ceremony, and then two persons including a minor abducted her and forcibly took her to the hostel and repeatedly raped her.

“Two persons including a minor one forcibly abducted on Saturday night and took her inside the deserted Madrassa hostel and repeatedly raped her. Later, they fled the area leaving her on the spot”, the officer in-charge of the Kadamtala police station said.

Returning home the girl depicted her sufferings to her parents and the angry villagers launched a search operation in the area and managed to catch hold of her from her residence on that night.

The person was identified as a 19-year old youth and a daily wager.

However, the minor boy was absconding and police launched a search operation to find him out.

He said that the rape survivor had under gone a medical test and her condition was stated to be stable.

Police registered an FIR under POSCO act against the two persons and further investigation is on. FD JK
