Minister Pratima Bhowmik flags off a fully air-conditioned train from Agartala to Kolkata

Agartala, May 17 (FD) Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhowmik flagged off a new, fully air-conditioned train from Agartala to Kolkata on Wednesday. The train, which consists of 11 coaches, will run on a weekly basis and can be extended to 22 coaches depending on demand.
Bhowmik expressed her pride in launching the new train and the developmental progress made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in improving rail connectivity not only in Tripura but across the entire Northeast. She emphasised the importance of the Indian Railways as a lifeline for the country.
According to Bhowmik, Kolkata is a city next door for the people of Tripura, and a large number of people from the state travel there for work every day. The new train is expected to make their travel easier and more affordable.
Minister Bhowmik acknowledged the continuous endeavors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the advancement of the Northeast region ever since assuming office on May 16, 2014. As the Prime Minister recently completed nine years in office, the people of Tripura received the much-awaited train as a commemorative gift.
Pratima Bhowmik extended her gratitude to the Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, for launching this new train equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The introduction of this fully air-conditioned service will undoubtedly enhance the travel experience of individuals commuting between Agartala and Kolkata, fostering greater connectivity and contributing to the overall development of the region.
