Minister for Animal Husbandry unearths neglect in Jumerdhepa Animal Hospital

Agartala, Nov 6 (FD) The Minister for Animal Husbandry, Sudhangshu Das, conducted an surprise visit to the Jumerdhepa animal hospital, only to discover it in a deplorable condition.
Expired medicines and wasted injection syringes cluttered the hospital shelves and cupboards. The visit came in response to feedback about the hospital's deteriorating state.
Despite the absence of many employees, the minister undertook an intensive inspection and found numerous expired animal medicine vials and discarded government-supplied injection syringes. Inefficiencies in record-keeping and paperwork further added to the concerns.
In response to the grim findings, the Minister ordered the lockdown of the animal hospital and initiated inquiries into the state of animal hospitals in Sepahijala district. This incident has highlighted the need for a comprehensive cleanup of the animal husbandry department to rectify the issues caused by negligence and employee absenteeism.
The Minister's visit was accompanied by Nalchhar constituency MLA Kisore Barman and Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta. FD SB
