MIB launches WAVES Bazaar, WAH Ustaad challenge and WAVES Awards

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today launched WAVES Bazaar, WAH Ustaad challenge and WAVES Awards in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, Mr Vaishnaw said India is gaining a lot of importance in the world forum for its heritage, rich culture and storytelling. He hoped that India will soon become the capital of the creative economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said India is a land of storytellers and these initiatives launched today will bring India’s soft power to the rest of the world. He said India’s culture and heritage is now being recognised all over the world, be it yoga or Ayurveda. He said India is progressing in the spheres of economy, technology, and defence. Mr Shekhawat highlighted that India’s culture is the true power of the country. He exuded confidence that WAVES will be able to tap into this.
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju said the WAVES Bazaar is a transformative initiative which will bring together buyers and sellers of media-related content. He said this dynamic platform is going to bridge geographical boundaries and allow all the creators to put out their products. WAH Ustaad is a unique classical and semi-classical talent hunt. The nominations for the WAVES Awards will open on the 15th of February.
