Mega Health Camp Conducted for Bone Health Assessment in Ashwini Market

Agartala, Mar 12 (FD) A mega health camp focusing on bone health assessment was organized at Ishan Chandra Nagar Community Hall, Ashwini Market. The event was conducted by the Nutritional Biochemistry and Toxicology Laboratory, Human Physiology Department, Tripura University, in collaboration with the Women's Studies Centre, Tripura University.

Renowned orthopedic consultant Dr. Sukomal Sarkar (MS Ortho, AGMC), along with Dr. Ram Kumar and Dr. Parmesh, provided medical consultations. Around 150 villagers, both men and women, participated in the camp. Various tests, including blood pressure, anthropometric measurements, random blood sugar, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), lipid profile, and calcium tests, were conducted. Essential medicines were distributed free of cost.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sukomal Sarkar, Dr. Sudipta Pal, and Prof. Sharmistha Bhattacharya. Ishan Chandranagar Panchayat Pradhan and members also made a special appearance. FD SB
