Manipur Press Club celebrates 49th Foundation Day with Governor Anusuiya Uikey

In honor of the 49th foundation day of Manipur Press Club, Governor Anusuiya Uikey laid the foundation stone for the Manipur Press Colony and inaugurated the Media Resource Centre. Established in 1975, the club received a spirited boost with the lady governor's presence as the chief guest, signifying its growing importance.
Governor Uikey expressed gratitude to the media for their bold coverage of state events, urging them to maintain objectivity and unbiased reporting. She acknowledged the pivotal role of the media in her journey and contributed Rs. One lakh to the press club fund.
Highlighting the importance of a robust media for a vibrant democracy, Uikey assured the media fraternity of full support. Her presence as the chief guest underscored the growing significance of the Manipur Press Club in both media and governance circles.
Dignitaries including Yumnam Khemchand, Minister MAHUD, RD and PR, Khogendra Khomdram, President of Editor’s Guild Manipur, and Bijoy Kakchingtabam, President of Manipur Working Journalist’s Union, graced the event.
The foundation day festivities concluded with a grand feast, fostering camaraderie and celebrating the integral role of the Manipur Press Club in journalistic endeavors.
