Agartala, Aug 29 (FD) Opposition leader and CPIM politburo member Manik Sarkar urged the people of the state to raise their voice against the oppression politics of the ruling party to restore democracy in the state.
Addressing a gathering of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) activists at Dukli here on Sunday, Sarkar narrated series of violence and attacks on opposition supporters and their leaders across the state and said that ‘total anarchy’ prevailed in the state.
He said, even after 52 months of BJP-IPFT government, still people of the state are being deprived of their basic rights. Sarkar alleged that everywhere loot has been going on and leaders are busy increasing their properties.
He said that people of the state have tolerated atrocities for long time, but now common people are daily joining the protest against the government and women of the state have to play a vital role to restore the democracy in the state.
He also appealed to all supporters and leaders of AIDWA to increase the people's contact and connect themselves with more and more people and highlight all burning issues of the state.
The united efforts of the people will definitely oust the fascistic government of the state and will decrease the suffering of the common people, said Sarkar and added that people have to isolate the BJP politically and have to defeat them in next elections to restore the democracy in the state.
