Rajiv Gandhi ji was a visionary who sacrificed his life for the sake of Indias unity. He was loved by every Indian and his martyrdom was a moment of collective grief for the entire nation, Venugopal wrote in a social media post.
The senior Congress leader added, His death anniversary is an occasion to remember the lofty ideals he stood for and the huge strides we made under his Prime Ministership.
