Agartala, Sept 12 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha said on Monday that steps have been launched to modernize another 400 government schools in the state, and Rs 2,000 crore set to be invested over the next five years for the general improvement of education in the state.
The current state administration will not make any compromise to the growth of education in the state.
"The state government is taking all necessary measures to improve overall education quality and is making ongoing efforts to provide quality education to students.”Teachers should also take the initiative to contribute to this goal," he stated.
Dr. Saha made the remarks on Monday at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, where the Department of Elementary Education was hosting an exhibition and competition to create low-cost teaching materials for all districts.
Dr. Saha had conversations concerning the execution of Nipun projects during the programme's commencement.
He emphasized that if the major goal of the Nipun project across the entire state is met, a new Tripura may be developed.
"It will also make the dream of Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura a reality. Teachers must accept responsibility for making that ambition a reality. The major contributors to the Nipun initiative are teachers. They educate students in schools by offering creative concepts and sports-based education. Tripura has an abundance of skills. Tripura's future appears to be bright. The state government has developed a number of programmes to ensure that students receive a high-quality education. Various additional measures for educational improvement have also been undertaken," he said.
"Textbooks for 8 Janajati languages, including Kokborok, Chakma, Manipuri, Halam, and Mog, have been introduced. In general degree colleges, all costs have been waived for female students", he said.
The Chief Minister declared that 752 schools have already implemented smart classrooms, and another 60 would soon do so.
In 604 schools, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been implemented. 294 more schools will implement this programme. In 106 schools, thinking laboratories have been established. Furthermore, a model school will be built on each block. About 50 crore rupees have been budgeted for school building this year," he said.
In addition, Dr. Saha noted that efforts have been made to modernize another 400 government schools in the state and that Rs 2,000 crore would be spent on this over the course of the following five years to advance education in the state as a whole.
