Lok Sabha resumes discussion on glorious journey of 75 years of Constitution of India; PM Modi to reply to the discussion today

The Lok Sabha today resumed special discussion on the glorious journey of 75 years of the Constitution of India. Speaking during the discussion, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju lauded the contribution of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in framing the constitution.
He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working with the mantra of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas in tune with the constitutional spirit. He said that the country ensured equal rights for everyone right after Independence. He emphasized that there is no discrimination against minorities in the country and minorities in India are getting legal protection. He said, several schemes have been implemented for the welfare of the six minorities communities in the country.
He pointed out that people should be careful about what they say about India because it affects the country’s global image. Mr Kiren Rijiju also shared numbers to highlight the development in North-East ever since the NDA government took over in 2014. He said, that between 1947 and 2014, nine airports were built in the north-east while in the last 10 years, the number has increased to 17.
He said, similarly, till 2014, around 11 thousand kilometre national highways were built and in the last 10 years, over 16 thousand kilometre have been built.
Participating in the discussion, A Raja of DMK raised the issue of democracy, rule of law and secularism and equality. Heated exchange of words took place between the members of the treasury benches and DMK members on the issue of A Raja’s remarks against the members of ruling side.
The ruling side members objected to his remarks and said that the DMK MP should apologise. Mr Jagdambika Pal who was on the Chair asked Mr Raja not to make such remarks against anyone and expunged the remarks.
Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu of TDP said that along with Dr B R Ambedkar there were 389 members who were inducted to frame the Constitution of India.
