Lok adalat disposes huge cases and earns money over a crore

Agartala, Sept 9 (FD) The Lok Adalat, where cases are settled outside court to give a solace to common people is paying dividends.
It is a fact that the third National Lok Adalat of the year was held on Saturday in 71 places, which has successfully disposed 68460 out of 15,339 and an amount of Rs 1,29,72,916 have been collected.
Sources in the State Legal Services Authority said, the court took up 15,339 cases for trial could dispose 6,846 cases related to banks and 7,051 criminal cases. Even as there are many pending cases including motor accident compensation cases, consumer court cases, arbitrable criminal dispute cases, matrimonial dispute cases, check bounce cases, other civil cases and employment cases would also be taken up for examination for finding amicable solution in Lok Adalats.
To every body’s surprise the Adalat also appeared live in the Tripura High Court, where several civil and criminal appeals were examined and solved.
The National Lok Adalat is an alternative form of courts, which can solve disputes amicably and held at regular intervals across the country, in the courts ranging from the Supreme Court to the taluk levels. It aims to provide speedy and inexpensive justice to the litigants by settling their cases amicably. No appeal can be made against the verdict of the lok adalat. FD JK
