Kshet Majdur Union organises sit-in at Paradise Chownuhani

Agartala, Dec 16 (FD) The Kshet Majdur Union, a left based organization of the labourers on Monday organised two-hour long sit-In at the Paradise Chowmuhani here and demanded solutions to the problems of unemployment’s, increased wages and providing flood reliefs to the victims.
Shyamal Deb, General Secretary of the state unit alleged that unemployment of the educated youths as well as that of the laborers working in the paddy fields have become acute and unless the government cannot provide them works or increases the rate of the labourers working in crop fields, the situation might turn to be disastrous.
He alleged that most of the flood victims despite given by assurances by the ruling party workers and leaders that they would get compensation are still waiting for it, but the leaders did not keep their words.
Deb alleged that when the state government has decreased MGNREGA works for the poor people, they were facing hardship, but the state government did not pay heed to their demands.
“We want that the numbers of works under the MGNREGA is increased, the wages also get a hike upto Rs.600 for a person”, he added. FD JK
