KIRTI: Sports Authority of India starts conducting the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification Program in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 5 (FD) Sports Authority of India (SAI) has officially started the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification Program (KIRTI) in Tripura, aimed at discovering and nurturing sporting talent among students aged 9 to 18 years, spanning classes 03 to 12.

This initiative is not limited to sports enthusiasts but is inclusive of all school-going students, promoting physical fitness and overall well-being. Since its launch, KIRTI has successfully conducted thousands of physical fitness assessments along with sport-specific evaluations in Athletics, Football, and Kabaddi.

The program has taken place at various venues, including the AD Nagar School Ground, Amtali School Ground, and the recently concluded assessments at PVM School Ground, witnessing participation from multiple schools across the region. The program organised by SAI faced a temporary halt due to the recent floods in Tripura, which impacted several regions and communities.

However, with the situation stabilizing, KIRTI has resumed with the same energy and it will continue until the second week of September 2024, focusing initially on schools under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTADC) and schools located in West Tripura.Future phases of KIRTI are planned, ensuring broader coverage throughout Tripura in the coming months. The Tripura Government Departments of Education, Sports, the Sports Council, TTADC Govt. along with the participating schools, has demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and support to SAI for the successful execution of KIRTI. Their collaboration plays a vital role in fostering a vibrant sporting culture within the state.

KIRTI is a significant step towards identifying and cultivating the talents of young athletes in Tripura, ensuring that every child with potential receives the opportunity to shine in sports. Director, Youth Affairs & Sports Department informed this through a press release.
