Karnatak elections, victory and loss are part of the journey: CM

Agartala, May 13: Reacting to the BJP's defeat in Karnataka assembly elections, Chief Minister Dr. Saha on Saturday said victory and loss are part of the journey and are natural outcomes in politics. He claimed BJP functions as per democratic system and expressed hopes that the saffron party would analyze the poll performance in Karnataka soon.

"Victory and loss are natural. Everyone wouldn't stay in the same place forever. But we haven't performed poorly. Our result was good as well. I am sure the party will look after these things in future and think about it. We function in democratic system. They (opposition) often say there is no democracy in the country. If democracy wasn't there, how did the Congress party win there? In democracy, one party will win and another party will lose".

He said the situation was different in Tripura and West Bengal under Communist rule and claimed BJP restored democracy in Tripura after it came to power here in 2018. FD JK
