Agartala, Mar 9 (FD) The BJP’s national president and union minister for health J.P.Nadda on Sunday said that People of the country are now accepting BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the political culture and changed the anti-incumbency into the pro-incumbency.
Addressing a mammoth rally in the Swami Vivekananda Maidan here on the occasion of celebrating the second anniversary of the state’s BJP government he said, “People are now accepting BJP throughout the country as the Prime Minister changed the entire political scenario. We secured 31.3 percent votes in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 that rose to 36.7 percent in 2019 and in the 2024 elections we could secure 37 percent votes”.
Nadda said that there is vibrant pro-incumbency as reflected in the successive victories of BJP in the assembly elections of Maharastra, Haryana, Delhi and by-elections in Uttar Pradesh.
He also criticised CPI (M)’s unholy alliance with the Congress in the state and said, the two parties used to wrestle in the state, but they had a clandestine alliance in the centre.
“The CPI (M) led left front government during its long rule had destroyed political culture as they murdered many people, indulged in corruption and failed in maintaining the law and order situation. People of the state were languishing in backwardness as most of the people lived under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category”, he said.
Nadda said people have much above the BPL category now with the good governance being delivered by the present government and the law and order situation has well improved in the state.
He claimed that all these were possible as the visionary leadesip of prime minister Narendra Modi and the tireless works of party leaders and workers at all levels.
In the last eleven years of the government led by Narendra Modi the country has moved up to emerge as the fifth largest economy in the world and the country is heading towards becoming the third largest economy in the world.
Nadda also launched two state government run schemes for women – Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana and Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana.
Under the scheme, the state government would provide a Rs. 50,000 bond to a girl child, who would be able to earn the benefits after availing 18 years of age, which would turn to Rs. Ten lakhs.
Under the Atmanirbhar Yojana the state government would provide two wheelers to 140 girls for attaining top grades in board examinations. FD JK
