Joint border haat management committee plans reopening of Kasba-Kamalasagar haat

Agartala, June 7 (FD) Joint border haat management committee today held a meeting today at Kasba in Bangladesh, bordering Kamalasagar block in Sipahijala district to discuss about reopening of the Kamalasagar-Kasba border haat, which was shut during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bishalgarh of the district Binoy Bhusan Das said, the border mart is expected to reopen by next month.

Das said, the committee has decided to reopen the border haat (Mart) as early as possible to resume border trade, but some repair works are required before opening the market.

He said a joint team of both the countries will visit the place and make an estimate of repair works and it is likely that the market would be opened by next month.

The border haat is a weekly market where the traders from the two countries, who reside near the border come together to sell their products. FD JK
