J&K Assembly passes resolution condemning terrorist attack in Pahalgam

In Jammu & Kashmir, the Legislative Assembly today passed a strongly-worded resolution to condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam. The resolution, which described the attack as heinous, barbaric, inhumane, and a cowardly act, was unanimously adopted by the House after a three-hour long discussion.
The resolution stated that such acts of terror directly attack the ethos of Kashmiriyat, the values of the Constitution, and the spirit of unity, peace, and harmony. The Assembly expressed solidarity with the victims of the recent terror attack and extended condolences to their families.
The House hailed the bravery of Syed Adil Hussain, who sacrificed his life to save tourists, and praised the people of J&K for their resilience and unity in the aftermath. It also endorsed the Union Government’s diplomatic measures.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Peoples Conference leader Sajad Gani Lone, BJP leader Sunil Sharma, Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir, CPI (M) leader M. Y. Tarigami, PDP leader Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, among others, participated in the discussion.
