Janajati Sangram Parishad demands compensation for the victims of Kaitorbari

Agartala, Dec 6 (FD) Tripura Janajati Sangram Parishad, a social organization on Friday met the additional District Magistrate and demanded for compensation of the victims at Kaitorbari, near Ranir Bazar.
The incident occurred after an idol of Kali was disregarded allegedly by a group of Muslim people, even as they made an assertion that it was not their works.
The Hindus allegedly attacked the houses of the Muslims, burnt down their houses and belongings destroyed, when police personnel were reportedly present there for reconciliations.
The organization today demands a compensation of Rs. Ten lakhs per family and ration supplies for the victims, who are living on other places as their houses did not exists.
They demanded the money for constructions of their houses and alleged that despite repeated assurances by the government officials, they have not yet received any donation from the government. FD JK
