Srinagar: Abdul Ahad Wani from Jammu and Kashmir Srinagar district has created magic by growing Nadru or lotus stems in a field instead of lakes.

Wani, who is known as Plantation Chacha in his village, had experimented with cultivating Nadru in his fields instead of lakes and succeeded in it.

The idea of cultivating Nadru in the fields naturally came to my mind which I took seriously and sowed the seeds. Thank God it was a successful experiment, he told ANI.

A local resident was left surprised by seeing lotus stems being grown on field.

We never thought that Nadru could be cultivated in fields instead of lakes. This is a unique step, said a local resident to ANI.
