Jagriti-2025 Promotes Youth Awareness on Drugs, Safety, and Consumer Rights

Agartala, Jan 28 (FD) Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the 'Jagriti-2025' inter-college quiz competition at Rabindra Centenary Bhavan today, emphasizing the critical role of youth in shaping the nation. Highlighting the dangers of drug addiction, the Governor stated, “With the largest youth population globally, the country’s progress is at risk if our youth fall prey to drugs.”
The quiz competition focused on three significant topics: consumer protection, road safety, and drug awareness. It was organized by the Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments in collaboration with the Higher Education Department. Students from six colleges in West Tripura and Khowai districts participated in this third phase of the Jagriti-2025 initiative.
Governor Reddy stressed the importance of adhering to traffic rules to prevent accidents and lauded the central government’s measures to protect consumer rights. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath noted that creating awareness among students is essential to building a healthier and better Tripura.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury underlined the program’s goal of promoting road safety, consumer awareness, and a drug-free society. Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma added that such initiatives can empower consumers, curb drug abuse, and reduce accidents.
The event concluded with prize distribution to quiz winners and the distribution of helmets to promote road safety. State Minister for Commerce and Industry Brisketu Debbarma and other officials were also present. FD SB JK
