Agartala, Jan 28 (FD) The self-styled Bubagra or the king of the states indigenous people, who is championing for dissecting Tripura in the name of ‘Greater Tipraland’ is getting no response from Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) for stitching an alliance.
The Bubagra, who is also the royal scion tried to bring the IPFT into his clutch by shattering the existing alliance with BJP. The IPFT, which also held rounds of talks with the Bubagra has now made a u-turn and decided to fight the elections in five St reserve constituencies as an ally of BJP.
“All the IPFT leaders are surprisingly not picking up their calls! Been waiting to hear from them since 11 am! Looks like Operation lotus is on!”
The leaders of TIPRA Motha, which is ruling in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) had floated a proposal to IPFT leaders for the unity of the two parties for “Unity of Tiprasas for survival and existence” as their demands are not very different.
Earlier on Friday, the Motha supremo informed that there will be no pre-poll alliance with ruling BJP.
Informing the decision in a video message from his official Facebook handle, Debbarma said, “No alliance - my heart does not agree and so I have made my decision that I cannot accept New Delhi's offer! Jitega toh jitega harega toh harega but one last fight to karke rahega! I can't betray our cause and our people!”
Meanwhile, the BJP announced five seats for its alliance IPFT candidates. FD PD JK
