IND Vs AUS: Australia 67/7 in first innings at stumps on Day 1

In Cricket, Australia were 67 for seven in their first innings against India at stumps on Day 1 in the opening Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Jasprit Bumrah led India’s fightback from the front with four wickets on Day 1.

Earlier, India got off to a weak start and were bundled out for 150 runs in their first innings. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy was the highest scorer for the visitors with 41 runs off 59 balls. Josh Hazlewood was the leading wicket-taker for Australia with 4 wickets.

Earlier, India’s stand-in captain, Jasprit Bumrah, won the toss and elected to bat first. Pat Cummins is leading the Australian side.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is missing the first Test due to personal reasons and is expected to join the squad in Australia on Sunday, and he will take charge for the second Test. The Indian men’s team will play five Test matches during the tour. This Border-Gavaskar Trophy serves as India’s final assignment in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
