Home voting begins in the West Parliamentary Constituency for the Lok Sabha Election.

Agartala, Apr 10 (FD) The home voting process commenced today for the West parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha election, catering to individuals above 85 years old, persons with disabilities, suspected COVID-19 sufferers, and those infected with COVID-19 who applied for postal ballots using Form 12D.
Dr. Vishal Kumar, the Returning Officer, disclosed that around 4,500 voters in the West Parliamentary Constituency have opted for home voting, aiming to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process. Each polling sector will be overseen by a dedicated sector officer, accompanied by a team comprising a microobserver, two polling officers, a videographer, and security personnel to ensure the smooth execution of door-to-door polling.
Litan Chandra Bhowmik, a resident of Bhattapukur in Agartala, expressed delight after casting his vote at home, emphasising the significance for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) voters like himself. "This is the first time I have cast my vote at home," Bhowmik said.
Efforts are underway to conclude the home voting process today, with contingency plans for completion on April 12, if necessary. Chief Electoral Officer Punit Agarwal and West Lok Sabha Constituency Returning Officer Vishal Kumar personally supervised the commencement of polling for 85 UP and PWD voters in the Lok Sabha elections, ensuring a seamless electoral process.
