Hollywood icon Robert Redford passes away at 89 in Utah

Hollywood actor-director Robert Redford passed away today at the age of 89 at his home in Utah, Western United States.

The actor-director-producer is known for his roles in classic films such as ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’, ‘The Sting’, and ‘All the President’s Men’.

He won an Oscar for directing ‘Ordinary People’ in 1980 and received an honorary lifetime achievement Oscar in 2002.

Redford was also a dedicated environmentalist, moving to Utah in 1961 and leading efforts to preserve the natural landscape of the state and the American West.
