In Maharashtra, Senior BJP Leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the Central Government has given a boost to industry and infrastructure for cotton cultivators by laying the foundation stone of a textile park in Amravati. Mr. Modi said the textile park will pave the way for the prosperity of cotton farmers.
Addressing his first election rally in Vidarbha region at Akola Mr. Modi said his government in the third term has launched several development projects worth crores of rupees which include many infrastructure projects in Maharashtra. He highlighted the importance of Irrigation projects in Vidarbha. He said the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government stalled ambitious irrigation projects of Devendra Fadnavis government.
After Mahayuti Alliance returned to power in the state, the Wainganga Nalganga and Painganaga interlink projects were sanctioned which will bring all 5 districts in Western Vidarbha including Nagpur and Wardha District under irrigation.
Mr. Modi also informed that his government accorded the classical language status to the Marathi language which has raised the prestige of Maharashtra.
The Western Vidarbha includes Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal, Buldana and Washim districts from where BJP, NCP and Shivsena are contesting as Mahayuti Alliance. Mr Modi will also address a rally at Nanded in the Marathwada region today. The state will go to polls on the 20th of this month.
Prime Minister and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi today highlighted that the NDA Government has initiated the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar circuit development which will cover prominent places associated with the life of Babasaheb Ambedkar. He also said that his Government named the national mobile payment app BHIM in honour of Dr Ambedkar. Addressing an election rally in Akola, the Prime Minister highlighted various infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, including the Vadhvan port in Palghar district.
Mr Modi emphasised that his government at the Centre granted Marathi the status of a classical language, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the people of Maharashtra. He also highlighted the work done by the Central Government and the Mahayuti Government in the state.
Further, Mr Modi criticised the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi and the Congress for being entrenched in corruption.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is scheduled to address two rallies in the Amravati and Nagpur North assembly constituencies. He visited the Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur and paid tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray criticised the ruling Mahayuti government for shifting businesses and industry from Maharashtra to Gujarat. He also expressed concerns over issues related to women’s security in the state. Aditya Thackeray held a rally in Worli. NCP(SP) supremo Sharad Pawar addressed a rally in Hingoli and is set to address rallies in Parli and Ashti in Beed today.
